Cup and a cup and a can

This is a great and very easy meat marinade for camping.

1 cup soy sauce
1 cup vegetable oil
1 can of Sprite (or your preferred soda)

mix the ingredients and marinade the meat in it for 2 to 4 hours. Great flavor and easy to make at the campsite. Works awesome on chicken, beef, or pork.

For sure you could add some things to that............. but that's a different recipe for a different time. Sometimes simple is good, especially when you're out camping and didn't bring your spice rack in your backpack. :)

Cowboy Stew

6 slices of bacon
1 cup of chopped onion
½ cup of chopped green pepper
1 clove of garlic crushed
1 ½ lb ground beef
2 cans tomatoes or 1
1 tsp of salt
¼ tsp of pepper
1 tsp chili powder
1 can whole kernel corn drained
1 can dark red kidney beans
2 cups cube potatoes

Fry bacon slices till crisp while frying bacon add chopped onion into grease to sauté. Cut or dice veggies to your liking. Make small meatballs out of the Beef and add into bacon after it is crisp (do not drain bacon grease) combining all ingredients (if you like it more soupier just add more water, don’t put more than 2 cups of water in it though it dilutes it too much.). You can add a couple jalapeno slices to make it warmer, let cook for at least 2 hours. Goes well with cornbread. This is the basic recipe; I never make it the same way twice. Enjoy
