Private Messages

Postby EJFH » Mon Nov 30, 2009 11:48 PMNov

I've discovered that the PM inbox holds 50 messages. I've reached that limit, so I have it set to delete the oldest messages as newer ones come in. Anyway to raise the threshold? Is there anything I can do to keep my old messages besides laboriously paste them into word documents?

Also: I notice that a PM I send stays in my outbox only until the recipient reads it. Then it disappears. If I later wish to refer to something I said, I can't. Is this a default setting that can be changed (and I'm just not seeing it), or am I stuck with this arrangement?

Questions, questions, questions. Let me look into it. I'm pretty sure that I can increase the capacity of the inbox, but keeping the old outbox? I'll see.

Strange goings on in computerland. This evening I have received two email notifications at home about new private messages on the forum. The problem is, when I log on, I seem to have no new private messages. I'm wondering if the emails are false alarms, or if someone is actually sending me private messages that I'm not seeing, and the sender probably thinks me rude for not replying? My inbox is near full (90%) but not quite. Ideas? If anyone has sent me a private message since today's exchange entitled "book review," I haven't seen it.

Actually, I think I've got it figured out. No hammer required!
